	1993 - 1994: Jacob (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat); Dick Deadeye (HMS Pinafore); The picture shows a pensive Jacob backstage during a performance of Joseph.

Soloist in concerts for The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of WA, Music Theatre Company of WA (MTC), Fremantle Music and Drama Club, Perth Oratorio Choir, Malcolm Sargent Festival Choir, Fremantle Choir, Murdoch University Choir, The Gloria Wilson Singers. Professional and charity performances as a free-lance Variety Artist. Repertoire includes comedy songs and duets; Opera, Music Theatre and Oratorio bass solos, duets, and ensembles; Folk song arrangements; Spirituals; Art songs and lieder.
Prize winner in Music Festivals and Eisteddfods 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989 & 1991.

CHORUS EXPERIENCE: 1983-present:

Chorus member in Sacred and Profane based on Faure Requiem and Orff's Carmina Burana (2001); Kate 'n' Shiner (Deckchair Theatre, Fremantle 1998); Oklahoma (1997 and 1992); Cabaret (1995 and 1983), Carmen (WA Opera 1992); Ruddigore, Salad Days, The Pirates of Penzance, Iolanthe, HMS Pinafore, Princess Ida, The Mikado (WA G and S Society 1983-1990); Chu Chin Chow 1990; The Student Prince, Touring concerts of Excerpts from Musicals, Opera, etc (MTC 1987-89). Wide ranging oratorio and choral symphonic repertoire with various choirs (1983-2001).

Until very recently a member of the Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus. Formerly (in Perth) a member of University of WA Choral Society, Perth Undergraduate Choral Society (PUCS), Festival of Perth Choirs, Malcolm Sargent Festival Choir in WA, WA Opera Chorus, West Australian Symphony Orchestra Choir, Perth Oratorio Choir, Murdoch University Choir, Fremantle Choir, The Music Theatre Company of WA (MTC) Singers and the Gloria Wilson Singers.

MUSICAL TRAINING, SKILLS AND SPECIAL INTERESTS:

Private singing lessons with Ian Westrip, Graeme McFarlane and Gloria Wilson from 1984 to 1994. Private Flute Teacher in UK: Maiya Leilausis (1960-63).
Recently (July 2001) completed an intensive five-day workshop on levels 1 and 2 of the Jo Estill "Compulsory Figures" method of vocal coaching and (November 2001) a three day level 3 workshop. Both of these with Helen Tiller in Adelaide. Previously had some private sessions with Ros Barnes in Fremantle on this method.

Flexible singing and speaking voice with more than a three octave range. Experience as a Compere/Narrator.

Read music fluently, sight singing, theory and ear training good. Flautist in Orchestras and small Ensembles in the UK and Fiji. Principal flute, Band of the 7th Battalion, The Middlesex Regiment (British Army) 1952-56. Music organiser, Fiji Arts Club 1975-76. Conducted an amateur orchestra in UK.

Video Production skills acquired by courses at Frevideo and Perth Institute of Film and Television (These two organisations amalgamated to form the current Film and Television Institue, FTI). A computer professional for the last 15 years of my full time employment, I have recently acquired skills in Web Page design and have registered, built and maintained sites for several organisations (see personal links page for details).

Wide musical and artistic interests. In WA was a member of:

Registered and built the National web site of the Australian National Association of Teachers of Singing (ANATS). A full member of ANATS for eight years and an active committee member of the WA Chapter before moving to SA in late 1998. Visited from WA to attend the ANATS 1997 Conference in Adelaide and came to live here about a year later.

TEACHING, DIRECTING & ACTING EXPERIENCE: 1979-present:

Teaching Voice privately for eight years until 1998, but now retired, although I still do occasional private coaching.
Taught Flute in Suva, Fiji (1974-76).
Musical Director GRADS production of Richards Cork Leg (1996).
Chorus Master and Children's Casting Director for Music Makers Unlimited (MMU) 1995 production of Les Miserables.
Childrens Choirmaster for MMUs Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1994);
Musical Director for Rockingham Carols by Candle-light 1994 & 1995 and Easter 1995 concert. Director/Musical Director for The Mikado (Rockingham) 1992. Conductor of chorus groups for the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of WA in 1992 and 1984 and Rockingham Heritage Theatre 1994-95.

Major acting roles in straight plays:

Mr Gripe (The City Wives), (1990); Adjutant (How's the World Treating You?), (1982); Gosforth (Confusions), (1979) plus the acting component of the music theatre roles listed above.
Smaller character roles include: Death (Alkestis), (1991); Musab(Chu Chin Chow), (1990); Nicobar (The Apple Cart), (1988); Herr Schaaf (A Month in the Country), (1987); Customs Officer, Max, Taxi Driver and other character roles (Cabaret), (1983 and 1994).

Whilst in Perth, was a member of the UWA Graduate Dramatic Society (GRADS), Music Makers Unlimited, Heritage Theatre Rockingham, The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of WA and the Independent Theatre Association of WA.
